Grain of Truth: The Journey from Tree Surgery to Firewood Supply

Welcome to Grain of Truth, our blog where we share everything you need to know about firewood—from stacking techniques to seasoning tips and the best ways to keep your home warm all winter.

For our very first post, we wanted to share how we got here.

From Tree Surgery to Firewood Supply

After 20 years as a tree surgeon, we’ve worked with trees in every way imaginable—planting, pruning, and sometimes removing them when necessary. Along the way, we noticed something frustrating: so much perfectly good wood was going to waste.

That’s when we had an idea. Instead of letting high-quality timber be discarded, we decided to put it to better use by supplying affordable, seasoned firewood to homes across North Norfolk.

What Makes Our Logs Different?

Unlike large-scale suppliers, we don’t just buy in bulk and resell—we personally source, cut, and season every log. We know exactly where our wood comes from, and we take the time to prepare it properly so it burns efficiently and lasts longer.

Here’s what you get when you order from us:
Well-seasoned, ready-to-burn logs (no damp, smoky fires here!)
Manageable bags for easy stacking and storage
Free delivery straight to your door
A free bag of kindling with every order
Help with stacking if you need it
Custom wood stores to keep your firewood dry year-round

Looking Ahead

Through this blog, we’ll be sharing expert firewood tips, answering common questions, and helping you get the most out of your logs. Want to know whether to stack bark up or down? How to season your own firewood? Or the best way to store logs for winter? Stay tuned—we’ve got plenty to share.

Thanks for being part of our journey, and if you ever need top-quality firewood at the best prices in North Norfolk, we’re just a message away!
